Puerto Rico
March 2021
We will be immersed in the culture that brought us salsa dancing. Although salsa originated in New York City, it was Puerto Ricans and Cubans that gave us salsa and its spice. We will attend "El Dia Nacional de la Salsa" Festival, spend a day in the gorgeous island of Culebra, visit "El Morro" and Old San Juan Historic sites, tour the east and west of the island while we enjoy Puerto Rican food, arts and crafts, local coffee, music and cultural happenings around the island.

-
Tour the west side of the island where the feel is different from the hustle and bustle of the San Juan metropolitan area. We will visit the historic towns of Lajas, Cabo Rojo, and San German - Puerto Rico’s second-oldest town. The entire Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Visit the Bioluminescent Bay in Lajas. We will then enjoy Puerto Rican food and holiday festivities in the town's plaza as the locals gather to listen to live music, sing, and dance, while others display their arts and crafts.
